Judith Lucy - review

Where's Dom gone?

Was Dom fond?

There's nothing funny about being late. And this isn't just advice I would pass onto Judith Lucy - my guest also kept me waiting for half an hour too. But do try passing this on to the aforementioned Aussie comedian, a woman who, to her credit, seems to be able to find the funny side of anything.

Where did you learn that? - Stand Up Comedy Courses, a look from the inside

Written by: Midds

It has often been a debate amongst comedians and those in the comedy industry as to whether or not you can teach someone to be funny. Therefore, Stand Up comedy courses naturally fall under scrutiny from some. An article on Chortle titled ‘You Can’t Teach Funny’ seems to sum up the scepticism that most have with the idea of a comedy course - e.g. you can’t teach someone to be funny, you can simply teach them how to deliver tired material in a decent way or create an artificial character onstage that, whilst getting you one or two laughs, isn’t natural or born in an organic way from the performer.

The 99 Comedy Club at The View, Leicester Square

The 99 Comedy Club do this, you might say, on a regular basis. They provide a perfect 'pre-night-out' setting, help to celebrate your birthday and fill a room with laughter, with no struggles whatsoever... apart from, on occasion, their microphones.

Cheap Chuckles on a Choosday

As recently reviewed by Skipper, ‘Shoot From The Hip’ perform exuberant improvised comedy every Tuesday at Covent Garden’s Top Secret Comedy Club. I strongly recommend taking a trip to watch the group in action as, with free entry, you’ll be hard pushed to find improv of such a high standard for so reasonable a price anywhere else!
